Halloween (1978) Directed by John Carpenter

In the sense of equilibrium, disturbance and resolution the opening two minutes of Halloween was executed well as, it starts off with a normal house on hallween night (that being the equilibrium), then the disturbance being when the masked character kills the girl, but in the opening two minutes the issue isn't resolved, but the killer is revealed but his parents don't know what he has done yet, as he was in costume with a knife and it is obviously Halloween and people wouldn't think anything of it.
With the storyline in place the narrative of the opening scene is that we don't know who the killer is, we arn't told why he does it, there is no real dialouge to dertermine what the relationship between the characters are meaning that we are not really involved in the film, we are now made to be watchers like the killer. This is done with the point of veiw shot.

Fight Club, directed by David Fincher

• Music playing at start is called stealing fat, very rocky based and quite a manic song with could represent the nature of the film.
• Image of nerves in the brain.
• Names in the opening scene come up as; White, bright, quite manly based
• All of the writing kind of flashes up, all of the titles are as if they are nerve impulses. As the background was nerves in the brain making the titles look like nerve impulses makes it all fit in with the over all theme.
• The image zooms through the brain and out of the a hair follical to show sweat on his head, and moving down his face to zoom across to reveal a gun with is then to show it is being held in his mouth by someone we don't see.
• First line said is a narrative which is "People are always asking me is I know Tyler Durden"
